Good dispersion / strong covering power / strong coloring power.
Widely used in building materials industry, plastic products, paint color paste, fine grinding materials.

Properties

Iron oxide red is an inorganic substance with chemical formula Fe2O3, red or deep red amorphous powder. Relative density 5~5.25, melting point 1565℃ (simultaneous decomposition). Insoluble in water, soluble in hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, slightly soluble in nitric acid. Very strong covering power and coloring power, no oil permeability and water permeability. Stable in the atmosphere and sunlight, resistant to malodorous gases, high temperature and alkali.

Recommended Uses

Used in many types of coatings, including antirust paints, water-based interior/exterior paints and oil-based paints.

Used for staining building materials such as mosaic tiles, concrete tiles, pavement tiles, colored ceramic tiles,
roof tiles and artificial marble.
Coloring of ceramic bodies.
For the paper industry, especially rice paper.
For surface coloring of plastic epoxy floors in the color of bitumen.
Used as a more fade-resistant dye for plastics.

What is iron oxide?

Iron oxide is a compound produced by a chemical reaction between iron and oxygen, and is an important substance widely found in nature.

Iron oxides are known to have different compositions, such as iron(II) oxide (FeO) and iron(III) oxide (Fe 2 O 3), depending on the oxidation number. Both are iron oxides and are components of rust along with iron hydroxide.

Uses of Iron Oxide

Iron oxide is used in various fields due to its nature and properties.

1.Iron
Iron oxide is mainly mined in the form of Hematite and Magnetite. These iron oxides can be reduced at high temperatures to metallic iron, which is an essential material for the construction industry.

2. Magnetic materials
Some iron oxides are magnetic and are used as magnetic materials in compasses, loudspeakers, electric motors and recording media such as magnetic tapes and disks.

3.Pigment
Iron oxides are available in red, black and yellow colors and are used as pigments and dyes in painting, printing and dyeing applications.

4. Cosmetics and pharmaceuticals
It is used in medicines for anemia and in cosmetics such as lipstick and blush.

5. Healthcare
In the medical field, it is used as a contrast agent for MRIs.

Properties of Iron Oxide

Iron oxide has a variety of properties, some of the characteristic properties are listed below:

1. Color
Iron oxide compounds produce substances of different colors, including red, yellow, and black, making them valuable as pigments.

2. Magnetism
Magnetic iron oxides have strong magnetic properties, which are important for electrons and magnets.

3.Chemical Stability
Iron oxide is chemically stable and relatively resistant to acids and alkalis, making it suitable for use in a variety of environments.
